It all started when I was not able to open new mail that comes into my gmail account, which I use to consolidate all my email accounts. The error looked like this:
“oops… the system was unable to perform your operation(error code 766).
please try again in a few seconds.â€
Now it is a Murphy’s law, that it is down right when I need it the most. I guess I need to do some research on web mail UI that I can install in my own server. Zimbra looks really promising in that area, though lack of documentation hurts.

Since this afternoon I got this error code 766..WTF!!!
Can somebody please help me. I need to log into my account urgently. So glad to see that I’m not the only one experiencing this problem

there is an options:
1. In you gmail account enable Pop3 access. So if Gmail web server goes down while you have an urgency to access your email, you could use any desktop email client to connect to gmail through Pop3 protocol to pick up your mail. Such clients include Thunderbird from Mozilla or Outlook from Microsoft.
